Colorful Boxes Empty
PostSubject: Colorful Boxes   Colorful Boxes EmptyFri Jul 22, 2011 6:43 pm

Ok so I'm making some scarves to sell, and I realized I didn't have anything to put them in. Boxes seemed like the best solution. Not wanting to spend money on them I thought "It's project time!". I had a bunch of thick paper that I bought over a year ago for a college project that was perfect for the boxes. As soon as I started the prototype for the boxes, I realized that one sheet of paper was not big enough. After I did the prototype I started to glue a bunch of sheets of paper together to make more boxes, but I glued the wrong sides. The final boxes turned out way better than the prototype haha. Here take a look:

They're so fun... I kind of just want to keep them.

Ooh I'd love to see a template of these awesome little boxes. Twisted Evil

Did you use an exacto-knife for these?

Oh they are supper easy to make I'll make a template and get back to you, or maybe I'll make little tutorial, we'll see XD. Oh also, no I didn't use an exacto-knife. I just used this metal thing that I happened to have in my house. You would just need to make indentation on the paper, so something like a ball-point pen that doesn't have any ink it would work really well.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you with this but long story short... life happened. So I was going to make a tutorial but I'm going to have to leave you with just the template right now. I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Oh also, for the 2 color detail, all you have to do is glue 2 pieces of paper together. Oh and make sure the glued part does not fall on any of the vertical lines on the template. They'll be not only hard to fold, but will also probably ruin the box.
