Eagles as running back LeSean McCoy out Wednesday practice
Philadelphia RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) missed Eagles practice Wednesday.Coach Andy Reid expects McCoy to play in Week 17 against the Redskins, but he'll likely have to get in at least one day of practice in order to do so. Look for McCoy to return to the field by Thursday or Friday and start the game
Reid said McCoy did not suffer a high ankle sprain after he left last Saturday's game and was taken to the locker room on a carter. McCoy finished with 13 carries for 35 yards in Week 16 -- the third time in his past five games he's been held to less that 40 rushing yards.
McCoy was able to secure his first trip to the Pro Bowl after leading thein touchdowns for most of the season. He current has 17 scores. "It means a lot, because I worked hard to be one of the best backs in the conference," McCoy said. It's still possible he sits in Week 17 as the game has no bearing on possible playoff scenarios and the Eagles certainly don't want to risk further injury to him. The Redskins are allowing an average of 17.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Consider McCoy a No. 1 Fantasy RB if he plays.
While cornerback Asante Samuel (hamstring) missed Wednesday's 10-10-10 indoor practice.
Offensive tackle Todd Herremans (ankle), defensive tackle Trevor Laws (knee), linebacker Brian Rolle (ankle) and defensive end Darryl Tapp (ribs) were all full participants in practice.
