| I've been haunting the edges of sewing for about 20 years. Always intending to sew like crazy, only ever mending, adjusting, or ...combining i guess? The point; I don't know my machine like I should. I cannot find the booklet, I tried googling a how to, and I absolutely CANNOT figure out how on my own how to attach this crazy convoluted zipper foot from hell.... I'm using a brother XL 2037... and this: Idk if I if I did that correctly.... My project is a combination of the t-shirt Hoodie tute and the Rockabilly circle skirt tute: I have a pretty green zipper I really wanna attach but.... unless I get that zipper foot on there, it's gonna be all crappy-like. | |

| Sigh. I gave up. I think that was a invisible zipper foot perhaps? Whatever. I just used the normal one... not ideal, but it's sewn on! Now I just gotta finish the armholes, put on sum pockets and embroider sum bugs. It's not perfect, but hey, it IS my first dress without a pattern...sorta. Does a wrap skirt I wear as a dress count? | |

| I have a Brother (can;t rem what make) and there's a release button for the feet -no screws. You'll know if you've hit it because the foot will fall off onto the feed dogs. |

| Thanks guys! I still don't know WHAT the heck was up with that funky thing! I've decided to pretend I never saw it before and buy me a new, regular zipper foot so's I *can* simply flick the lever and swap out like a normal person! The dress is comin' along, got me some sleeves now, nervous about some new fangled pockets I wanna try (saw 'em on an apron wen I went to buy more thread at my local fabric shop). .... practice on some scrap i guess..... So I've got this crazy idea to imitate the iconic "poodle skirt" but instead of a poodle on a leash, I'm gonna embroider one of my favorite things to draw: a staghorn beetle (sorta- I modeled it after a rubber toy, prolly not a staghorn per se) with a dashed line to show he crawled out of my pocket.... I'm thinking black thread for pop. I wanna make sure it's noticeable! | |

| okay, maybe I will try really hard later to see if that awesome lil instructional can get it to happen... I does look rather different though... I kinda hate my machine, want to learn how to use the old singer I have instead. | |
